Printful vs Printify: which print-on-demand supplier fits your store?

A practical comparison of pricing, fulfillment models, product range and integrations between the two largest print-on-demand platforms.

The core difference is who prints your order

Printful owns and operates its fulfillment centers. Printify routes each order to a third-party print provider from a partner network. That single structural difference explains almost every other trade-off between the two platforms.

In-house production means more consistent color, packaging and turnaround, but a narrower catalog and higher base prices. A partner network means lower prices and a wider catalog, with variance between providers you have to manage yourself.

Pricing

Printify generally wins on unit cost, especially on basic tees where competing providers bid against one another. Printful prices higher but bundles fulfillment consistency and branding options into the base cost.

Compare landed cost, not base cost: shipping and per-additional-item rates change the ranking on multi-item orders.

  • Basic tees: Printify usually cheaper
  • Embroidery: Printful typically more consistent
  • Wall art and homeware: compare per-provider, results vary widely

Which should you choose?

If your brand depends on repeatable quality — apparel with tight color matching, branded inserts, or embroidery — Printful is the safer default. If you are optimizing margin on high-volume basics and can qualify providers yourself, Printify is hard to beat.
